secret (?) tumblr dashboard on the iPhone (well, I didn’t know about it anyway)
I just discoverd this on the API page of tumblr:
“iPhone For iPhone apps that want to display a user’s Dashboard, Tumblr offers an iPhone-optimized view at http://www.tumblr.com/iphone.”
The best part, it works great in just plain old mobile Safari.
I wish I knew this months ago! I love the dashboard on the tumblr iPhone app but it’s limited compared to Safari on the iPhone. An iPhone optimized version of the dashboard in Safari allows me to save photos to my library, add bookmarks, use bookmarklets, and email links to posts. You can also use the layout in a desktop browser, allowing you to have your dashboard open in a much smaller browser window.
I’ll probably still use the tumblr app to post when I’m away from the computer, but this opens a great deal of possibility when browsing.
