Last night I was told that my mother is dying. Yesterday she was fine, now she is hooked up to tubes. She will not be waking up before she dies in the next few hours and I am on the other side of the country unable to get to her before she goes.
I post this as a reminder of something everyone already knows. You need to call your mother, right now.
