I just bought and cleaned up a clone of the alarm clock I grew up with. I found it at a thrift store while searching for halloween costume materials. My original alarm clock of this model was purchased 20 years ago with the hopes that I would be able to set the alarm to wake me up to my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie soundtrack cassette. I used that alarm clock to wake me up just about every morning from middle school thru collage, up until about 3 years ago when it died.
Today, after I brought this one home, I went into my box of mementos and found my all time favorite mix tape from high school, a tape I asked my friend Jon to make me as an introduction to Tom Waits. It’s playing as I write this.
Shit. This is awesome.
