Carson and I were at what turned out to be a record crowd for the Obama campaign this morning. 75,000 people showed up along the river in some pretty damaging heat, at least for Portlanders. While we were waiting for Barack to speak the Decemberests played a free show on the stage a few feet from the speakers podium. As far as I’m concerned you couldn’t do much better to entertain me while waiting in a sweltering packed crowd than to bring on that gang. I got a good deal of video of his speach from our spot in the crowd about 9 feet away. I’ll post that here once I can get it downloaded and edited. It really seemed like something special. A beautiful day, and a heck of a speech.
