    Pointy Show

Last friday we had a house show that was downright fantastic.

I say “we” but I really had nothing to do with it aside from putting my pants on and making sure the door was unlocked. It came together when my friend Mike McGee wrote if we would give up our living room for an evening for himself and a couple other poets to read and spend a couple nights on our sofas. We’ve done this a few times for Anis and the guys in the Revival and it’s always been great so we jumped at the chance, but I had little idea how impressive the show would be. I know and love Mikes work but I’d never heard Mindy Nettifee or Brian S. Ellis (Mikes fellow poets who he will be touring with later this year) I tell ya, they instantly became two of my all time favorite performers.

Drew Grow was a surprise guest musician who flattened everyone in the room. I feel so privileged that such amazing people came to perform in my house.

I just put a hand silk screened t-shirt about casette tapes and nature up on my store. Dark brown, teal, on canary.

This design is partly inspired by a memory I have from high school. A friend of mine had allowed me to tape a copy of an album that he swore up and down was fantastic but I’d never been able to really get into while listening to it in his car.

Late one night I put on my coat and walked out to an overgrown socker field behind my house. It was night and from the middle of the field you could see stars in all directions. I laid down on my back and put the earphones in.

I remember that it was windy and the grass was so tall you couldn’t have seen me from the road. I listend to the album from beginning to end looking up at the sky, only breaking to flip the tape over.

I swear it’s one of the best albums I know of.

I’ve only got 3 shirts available (for the near future) so if you’d like one I’d act fast.
