This is a stereoscopic comic. It was originally designed to be viewed by one of these:

This version of the comic was redesigned so that you can still view it in 3D without a stereoscope, but it can be kind of tricky.

First, it’s a good idea to make your browser window as large as it can get.

Some people lean back and cross their eyes so that they see four total images instead of the normal two.

Then they slowly uncross their eyes until two out of the four images overlap each-other.

That middle image then looks 3D to them.

Other people get close to the screen and let their eyes loose their focus and their brain just does the rest.

You don’t need to see the strips in 3D to read them however, they work just fine in 2D.
